BYD plays spot the difference

They could just argue they set out to build an average, inoffensive and dull looking car... and the result was like a Toyota!

Ah, the domestic appliance argument! Possibly …
I know I have doodles that look more original than that!

governments should not be signing things like free-trade agreements with the Politburo in Beijing till some of these intellectual property issues can be sorted out.

It seems that the Communist Chinese are going to approach free-trade agreements like they do everything else. Namely, they are going to violate and violate until it becomes painful for them. The United States could can make it painful for them by using trade to bring them into line. Since a huge part of their economy is fueled by trade with the United States, a change in trade agreements could force the Communist Chinese to abide by international trade agreements. Until Communist China is put on notice by other countries, they will continue stealing. Stealing the work of others is wrong and China needs to realize this.

I guess there’s no shame at BYD, and that the ideals of truthfulness in Confucianism haven’t made a return to parts of Red China.

I agree
There are also human rights’ issues, too, but that’s a whole other post! My view is we shouldn’t deal with anyone who doesn’t respect the sanctity of human rights.
[this is good]
Jack - I totally agree.
The sad thing is governments—many of which are corrupt—are quite happy to go in partnerships with countries like this. We haven’t learned much over the last few thousand years.
Jack - You are right on target. It seems that ethics is rare today.
Timothy, if you head over to the same post on my main blog, you’ll find two Red sympathizers who have tried to ignore the issues raised in the post—and instead are attacking my usage of ‘Red China’ (funny it only took them six years to notice I do this on blogs)! It’s a shame that that’s the best they can do in defence of BYD.
[this is good]
Jack - I checked out your main blog. Gosh, your detractors are sure odd. They are ignoring the facts.

It reminds me about time that Bill Clinton said he did not have sex with that woman Monica Lewinsky. Good golly, that was embarrassing for Bill Clinton and his wife.
Thanks, Timothy. I saw your comment and have replied in agreement, too.
It’s a typical political tactic: discredit the messenger on a trivium in the hopes that the real message will be ignored.
On President Clinton: you are right, that was embarrassing.
